A deadly house explosion lures private investigator TJ Peacock to the site of the fire where she meets Gemma, a woman tortured by the death of a friend who died in the explosion.
Gemma is convinced the explosion was deliberate and hires TJ to find out who murdered her friend. TJ takes the case and returns to the work she loves, despite feeling guilty about neglecting the responsibilities of her other roles as a wife and mother.
When a series of attacks and a murder take place in the same neighborhood as the explosion, TJ unearths a bizarre connection to a 16-year-old double suicide of a couple who were partnered in a swingers' group. A killer is trying to eliminate everyone who had been players in the group.
The clock is ticking as TJ tries to unravel the mystery before more people are killed.
Trespass TJ Peacock Lisa Rayburn Mysteries Book 2 (Audible Audio Edition) Marla Madison Dana Green Books
Marla Madison’s Tresspass is a gem . The book’s location is Wauwatosa WI. Try saying that three times without your tongue tying in a neat knot! The book opens with a bang, literally, as Norman Teschler’s house is blown sky-high with Norman in it. Private Investigator, TJ Peacock, is hired by Norman’s good friend, Gemma Rosenthal, to investigate Teschler’s death. Gemma is not convinced by the quick and tidy ruling that her friend’s death was an unfortunate accident. A retired cop and now PI, Tj Peacock starts digging and uncovers some real dirt including a swinger’s club where neighboring couples exchange their spouses for nights of unbridled passion. The more she digs, the more TJ is mired in a salacious bog of sin and death.Madison keeps the action moving and the reader guessing on who the murderer is. There’s an unsavory cast of characters and it could have been any one of them. She fooled me and I’m not easy to dupe.
Madison knows her police procedures and that added real credence to the story. I liked this book…a lot and can highly recommend it. Madison earned her 5 stars on this one.

Trespass TJ Peacock Lisa Rayburn Mysteries Book 2 (Audible Audio Edition) Marla Madison Dana Green Books Reviews
The only reason I did not give this book five stars is because of the difficulty I had keeping up with all the names of the characters. I found this book to be very intriguing because it includes a twist on the typical home invasion.
As the story goes on you'll be caught up with following the story and trying to determine who all the perpetrators are given the clues that are presented. Almost every time you think you have it all figured out you are given new clues. What seems like an open and shut case, is far from it.
When I began this book I didn't realize it is book 2 because it can definitely stand alone. At the end, after the epilogue, you'll be satisfied, but wishing for more.
Storyline 5 stars; believable characters, well written, very engaging story that drew me in so much so that I hated to put the book down to even get something to eat when I was hungry!
Grammar 5 stars; 1-2 grammatical errors.
Sexual content 5 stars; no graphic sexual content.
Language 4 stars; TJ (a private eye who is a main character in the series) has a potty mouth who only seems to swear when she is provoked, a spattering of offensive language throughout the book.
I had a really difficult time staying with this book and the ending could have used a little more punch. The characters were confusing and the story bounced around a bit. I also was not in favor of the 3rd person narrative along with a first person narrative by another character. It was a bit hard to follow the sleep paralysis narratives, too. Overall, I liked the book the more I got into it. I rarely do not finish a book I start so I was happy that I stuck it out and in the end I enjoyed it. The author put a character list in the back of the book. I would suggest moving that up to the front because by the time I was aware of the list I had already spent way too much time trying to figure out who was who. I would have saved myself some confusion if the list had been in the front of the book.
Marla Madison's first book about TJ Peacock was actually pretty good and I was looking forward to this second one. Very disappointing. But not for the same reasons as some other reviewers here. I did not mind TJ's speech patterns in dropping her "g"s and such. It just shows she has come from a tough background. Think "Rizzoli and Isles", which is far superior, but I digress. The sexual content didn't offend me either. It was the constant simpering, wimpy, and whiney attitude of our main protagonist Gemma. I was so sick of her sleep paralysis episodes I just stopped reading them. Not to mention the really stupid things that she does in this book considering that someone is out there murdering people.
Which leads to the plot. The plot itself could have been a good story but by the time it was all said and done, I was just left with the sensation of....really?? In the end it just didn't make a whole lot of sense to me and indeed, there were a few loose ends that were never tied up. What happened to Victoria? Was Gemma actually drugged at one point? I hope so because no intelligent woman that I know would do the stupid things that she does. In my opinion it was an okay read if you have absolutely positively nothing better to do, which was me. Three stars because I do like the character of TJ Peacock. I don't get all the wonderful reviews here. Maybe some of these people have never read a good crime story? Try T R Ragan's Lizzy Gardner series. You'll enjoy them a whole lot more.
In a word, this book is stupid. In two words, really stupid.
The first book in this series was free and it was OK. However, not using my brain I thought the second would be an improvement and you had to actually pay money for it. So much for thinking...
The book has more to do with TJ Peacock than Lisa Rayburn since she is barely present in the book. There are MULTIPLE characters that I could have used a white board to keep track of them and the characters were not developed so I really didn't care about them. Not a good read. Save your money!
Incest between siblings. Bizarre plots. I just felt like I needed a bath after reading it. Only good thing...it was an easy read.
I am only taking the time to review this so others won't be misled as I was. I enjoyed Ms. Madison's first book very much. Although this plot was good, there were a number of vulgar scenes that were much different than her last novel. I stopped reading after 100 pages and was very dissappointed.
