I liked the new prespective ,the characters are deep and moving.
The world building isn't very clear but that is expected from small novella.
This is the first work I have read by this author and I loved it, already ordered another of her books to read. I loved the rich world she throws the reader into in the span of such a short story, and she does it so well. Its not overwhelming but its lush, a bit gritty, and totally leaves you wanting more! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys fantasy, or good stories with delightfully well written characters.
A believable and intriguing world, interesting and complex characters, and a fast-paced plot... there's a lot to like in this short story! It is a great advertisement for Hurley's longer books, but it also stands quite well on its own.
I do like her work, and this was a good bit different setting wise. I would enjoy more stories set in this world.
